Soobadra Camille Gauthier graduated magna cum laude from the University of Central Florida in1986 with a B.A. in Legal Studies. She was inducted into the Honorable Society of Phi Kappa Phi with membership reserved to graduates in the top 10%. In 1991, Ms. Gauthier graduated cum laude in the top third of her class from Stetson University College of Law. While in law school, Ms. Gauthier distinguished herself as the recipient of the Judge Victor O. Whele Award for Excellence in Trial Advocacy, winner of the Outstanding Oral Argument Freshman Moot Court, winner of the American Jurisprudence Book Award in Federal Constitutional Law, and was awarded a Law III Academic Scholarship for Excellent Academic Achievement. She was a member of the Inns of Court and Environmental Law Society, and inducted into Phi Delta Phi International Legal Fraternity. In 1983, Ms. Gauthier earned an LL.B. (Bachelor of Laws) with honors, from the University of the West Indies. Ms. Gauthier began her practice in Orlando, in May 1992, and she specialized in insurance defense litigation, defending both first- and third-party claims and with an emphasis on fraud and Special Investigative Unit matters. Ms. Gauthier joined Cabaniss, Smith, Toole & Wiggins, PL in February of 2008. Ms. Gauthier is a member of the Florida Bar, the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida; the United States Court of Appeals, Eleventh Circuit, Atlanta, Georgia; and the Orange County Bar Association. She was a member of the Florida Advisory Committee on Arson Prevention for over ten years.
